How to create an unforgettable experience for 1500 people without a place to spend Christmas? 

In Copenhagen's freetown Christiania I have been volunteering as an event designer, in charge of the design concept, calculating and buying materials.

I served as design team leader of 100 volunteers and execution.

CONCEPT
Humans love repetition.

As kids, we love to hear a story again and again. In music, we dig the repeating beat and the returning chorus. Within architecture and design we repeat elements and shapes to create order.

I used simple materials such as paper cups, cotton balls and print paper.

Repeating the elements and creating a new and dynamic visual experience. 

​By using paper as a main element, I could create a huge impact while minimising cost and materials. Using changning light as an impactful add-on.

Christmas tree made from one kilometer fabric string.

Stage backdrop made from 7056 rings that create 210 garlands.

Rotating snow storm made from 3000 cotton balls and 1000 meters of fishing line and a disco ball motor.
